Silver State Volleyball Car Wash today

The Silver State Volleyball Club will hold a car wash from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at Lowes in Carson City.

The car was is a fund-raiser to help with the club's expenses for two major tournaments that are coming up. The club will send five teams to the Volleyball Festival in Sacramento, which is the world's largest sporting event for women.

The club's 17 and under gold team will also compete in the United States Junior Olympics to be held June 30 to July 3 in Sal Lake City. The team comprised of girls from Carson City, Minden, Fallon, Reno and the Lake Tahoe areas, cmpted in several National qualifiers in Los Angeles, Kansas City and Sacramento.

The club placed in the top 10 in each event and secured one of the 24 automatic bids to the nationals with a second place finish in the Far Western qualifier in Sacramento.
