A funeral Mass for Daniel L. Riskey, 79, a Carson City resident for the past 12 years, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. today at FitzHenry's Funeral Home.
A recitation of the Rosary will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Teresa.
Mr. Riskey died May 26, 2002, in Carson City. He was born May 13, 1923, in Grafton, ND, to Leon and Clara Mach Riskey.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Brea, Calif.
Mr. Riskey was a carpenter. He was a member of the musical group Reminisce. He was an avid bowler and past president of his senior's bowling league. He loved fishing with his sons. He was a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4781 of Carson City, a member of the American Legion Post 4 of Carson City and a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during world War II.
He was preceded in death by brothers Frank and Julius.
Among his survivors are his wife of 56 years Irene of Carson City; sons Dwight of Plano, Texas and Danny of Flower Mound, Texas; daughter Carolyn Simnad of Chapel Hill, NC; sisters Louise Dusek and Clarice Dusek of Grafton and Leona Bisel of Fullerton, Calif.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Burial will be at Lone Mountain Cemetery.
