Galena volleyball sweeps past Elko

The Galena High volleyball team finished High Desert League play at 10-2 with a 15-9, 15-11, 15-5 win over Elko on Friday.

Galena will enter the zone playoffs as the High Desert League's No. 2 seed and will play South Tahoe at 4 p.m. Friday at Douglas High.

Kate Wallace had 19 assists, Mandy Dickman had 18 assists, Joanna Hixon had 17 kills and 13 digs, Whitney Dibble had eight kills, seven digs and 10 blocks, Lydia Mailander had seven kills and five digs, Carly Kolesar had six kills and nine digs and Julia Mailander had six blocks for Galena.
