A memorial service for Velma R. Castoe, 83, a Silver Springs resident for the past six years, will be at 11 a.m. today at Silver Springs Christian Center in Silver Springs.
Mrs. Castoe died Nov. 4, 2002, at her home. She was born Sept. 19, 1919, in Blanchard, Okla., to Thomas D. and Mina Mae Sumter Overley.
Before moving to Silver Springs, she lived in Hemet, Calif.
Mrs. Castoe was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, canning and her vegetable and flower gardens.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, of 57 years in 1992.
Among her survivors are her daughter Joyce Jenkins; grandson and wife Phillip and Kandy Looper and great grandchildren Keven and Kati Looper, all of Silver Springs, and sister Corina Cop of Hemet.
Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory. Burial will be beside her husband in the Silver Springs Cemetery.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
