City looking for volunteers for panels

Carson City Board of Supervisors is looking for three residents to fill positions on city committees.

The Carson City Redevelopment Authority Citizen's Committee is taking applications for an open "citizen at large" position.

The committee recommends and takes action on giving financial and other incentives to potential business and property owners downtown and in the redevelopment district.

The Board of Supervisors and the committee will appoint one resident to fill the open position. Applicants should have no financial interest in the redevelopment district, should be residents of Carson City and active voters. The term expires January 2005.

The Carson River Advisory Committee needs one volunteer to fill an open seat in the area of recreational issues.

The committee provides advice on matters concerning the development, maintenance, management and operation of the Carson River.

A minimum commitment of 10 hours a month is expected from committee members. The term expires in July 2005. The position is open until filled.

One open position on the city's Regional Transportation Committee. The transportation committee meets once a month and adopts rules and regulations relating to regional transportation issues.

Applicants should be residents of Carson City and a registered voter. The position closes Nov. 22.
