A funeral for Marvin H. Adam, 81, a Carson City resident for the past 42 years, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church with the Rev. Deterding officiating.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.
Mr. Adam died Nov. 16, 2002, at Evergreen Health Care Center. He was born Oct. 24, 1921, in Kutztown, Pa., to Herbert S. and Erma Fegely Adam.
He married Doris Boone Dec. 18, 1948, in Kutztown.
He graduated from Kutztown High School in 1939.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Topton, Pa.
Mr. Adam worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 22 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
He served in the Army in World War II and received the Silver Star.
He was preceded in death by his sister Alverda Krouse.
Among his survivors are his wife, Doris, and daughters Cathy Adam Douglas and Suzanne Adam, all of Carson City; brothers Kermit Adam of Topton and Sterling Adam of Kutztown; sister Margaret Adam of Kutztown; grandchildren Adam Douglas, Jenny Douglas, Matthew Douglas and Amy Kostiv Douglas and great-grandchildren Zaria and Caedron Douglas, all of Carson City.
Burial will be at Lone Mountain Cemetery.
