Sale of old literary effects at the Appeal office. The stock of campaign lies advertised by the Appeal went off so rapidly that the proprietor determined to dispose of a lot more stock. Yesterday morning at 10 o'clock, the time advertised for the sale, the back yard was crowded with the editorial fraternity of the coast and a few Eastern journalists all anxious to bid. Up for sale, seven wastebaskets of spring poetry drew a howl of indignation, "familiar expressions," "worn out quotations," "No go," cards, etc.

The vote between King and Bray for Superintendent of public Instruction is too close. As near as can be figured, it stands Bray 828 and King 824. There are seven precincts in Nye to be heard from.

Tony Likins, campaign manager for Barbara Vucanovich in her bid for Congress, will be her administrative assistant in Washington, the Vucanovich campaign has announced.

Carson Valley Chamber of commerce Blue Ribbon Task Force wants changes in Douglas County's commercial design review process. It calls for a shift in responsibility from the towns to the county to avoid duplication and expedite granting of permits.
