Christian Losche and Royal Good each scored goals as the Carson boys soccer team defeated Truckee 2-0 on Tuesday afternoon.
Good, who was called up from the JV team for the game, played center midfield in place of Kirkwood Harris, who missed the game for academic reasons.
Coach James Nealis scheduled the game because the Senators needed to get more games in after winning by forfeit over Spanish Springs earlier this season. Carson (8-0-3 overall, 4-0-3 league) will also play Reed next Thursday in another game that was scheduled after the season started. Good, who dominated on the Senators' undefeated JV squad, will remain with the varsity the rest of the season, Nealis said.
DOUGLAS GIRLS VARSITY 10, WOOSTER 1
Tracey Hawks and Mackenzie Porter both scored two goals and Britney Christen scored a goal and had three assists as the Tigers won easily on Tuesday over the Colts in Reno.
Wooster scored its first goal of the season, a nice shot by Alex Veach with six minutes left in the game. The Colts, who are 0-9-1 this season, tied Hug 0-0 earlier this season.
Douglas' Rebecca Wallstrum and Terran Hadlock both didn't play because of injuries. The Tigers improve to 7-2-1 overall and 6-1-1 in league.
CARSON GIRLS VARSITY 4, NORTH VALLEYS 0
Kristen Hale scored two goals and Chrissy Katzorke and Katie Kotter each scored one as the Senators pretty much wrapped up a Northern 4A playoff spot.
Carson is now 5-3 in league play and North Valleys, which was realistically the only team that could challenge the Senators' playoff hopes, fell to 2-6 with the loss.
"Our team is slowly developing," coach Mike Popp said. "Hopefully by Douglas we'll at least be able to give them a good game this time. We really need to work on our finishing. We have a problem with that still."
CARSON JV GIRLS 4, NORTH VALLEYS 0
The Carson junior varsity girls soccer team improved to 8-0-2 and set up a showdown of unbeaten clubs when it faces Douglas on Saturday. Carson and Douglas battled to a tie in their first meeting.
Morgan Beam scored two goals and Shannon Eng and Carol Theising each scored a goal for Carson. Goalie Nikki Whitmer posted the shutout.
