Obituary: Rupert Milton Rupracht Sr.

Rupert Milton Rupracht Sr., 80, died Oct. 10, 2002, at South Lyon Medical Center in Yerington.

Visitation will be at Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi, Calif., at 2 p.m. Monday.

He was born Feb. 12, 1922 in Palermo, New York, to William Burt and Hazel Switts Rupracht.

He was a Army Air Corps veteran who served from 1943 to 1946. He married Audrey Liese on Sept. 13, 1945. He was owner of Hawthorne Funeral Home from 1968 to 1979 and served as a justice of the peace from 1975 to 1987. He was a member of the Hawthorne Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as an emergency medical technician.

He and his wife moved to Yerington when he retired. he was active in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

His daughter, Bonita Louise Meyers, and grandson, Randall S. Rupracht, preceded him in death.

He is survived by: his wife, son Robert Jr. and his wife, Denise of Yerington; daughter Rebecca Proffitt and and her husband, Stephen, of Leucadia, Calif.; granddaughters Rachel Proffitt of Palo Alto, Calif., and Sarah Proffitt of Orange, Calif.; sisters Arlene Fuller and Marie Putnam of Fulton, N.Y.
