Speed was the primary factor in a single-car rollover crash on Carson Ranch Road near Silver Saddle Ranch Friday morning, according to officials at the scene.

Carson City resident and driver Lisa David, 19, received lacerations on her back and legs. There were no passengers in her Ford Bronco.

"She's very lucky," said her mother, Debbie David. "They're going to do an MRI, just to be sure everything's OK. I'd like to spank her because she wasn't wearing her seat belt. But right now, I'm just glad she's alive."

Trooper M.D. Teeuwen of the Nevada Highway Patrol said Lisa David was traveling south on Carson Ranch Road in an older-model Bronco when she exceeded the speed limit and did not make the turn.

The Bronco hit the right shoulder of the road, then skidded and rotated to the left. It plowed through a barbed-wire fence and into a pasture on the left side of the road before rolling at least once. David was ejected.

She was taken to Washoe Medical Center by Careflight and released at 3 p.m. Friday.

The Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
