Tigersharks strong in Reno meet

In the 13-14 age group, three swimmers tried the 1650 free for the first time. Danielle Judge and Sarah Metcalf were both under 23 minutes for their first mile and Hilary Schlager was under 22 minutes. Also competing in the 1,650 free were Barbara Perkins, Rebekah Niehoff and Lauren Metcalf.E

"The Tigershark coaches encourage our swimmers to swim all events offered in their age group, so it is great to see the swimmers trying some of the tougher distance events," Tigershark head age group coach Jackie Boudreau said.E

Other swimmers competing in the meet were Kurt Andersen, Candice Cottle, Ian Murdock, Katie and Morgan McEwan, Alexandra Schlager, Julianne Perkins, Jessica Fahrenbruch, Samantha MacCarty, Maggie Jessberger and Jacob Branco.

On Saturday, the Tigersharks participated in Carson City's Nevada Day Parade.

"They turned around and did some great swimming on Sunday," Boudreau said.E

The Tigersharks will host the Nevada State Short Course Championships Nov. 8-11.E
