Obituary: Barbara A. Barnes

A service for Barbara A. Barnes, 69, a Gardnerville resident for more than 30 years, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Minden Unity Church in Minden.

Mrs. Barnes died Sept. 15, 2002, in Carson City. She was born July 28, 1933, in Oakland, Calif., to Erma Hauske Shepard.

She attended high school in Oakland, Calif.

She married Clair L. Barnes June 26, 1971, in Carson City.

Before moving to Gardnerville, she lived in San Jose, Calif., for many years.

Mrs. Barnes retired as an executive secretary at the Douglas County School District. She was a member of the Unity Church of Minden.

Among her survivors are her husband of Gardnerville; son and daughter-in-law Douglas and Kathy Barnes of Roseville, Calif.; brothers Wally Shepard of Palm Springs, Calif., and Robert Shepard of Guadalajara, Mexico and three grandchildren.

Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
