Ten-year Carson City resident Janice E. Mears died March 31, 2003 at home. She was born April 11, 1940 in Los Angeles County California to George E. and Maxine Grohn Hill. She was 62.
Ms. Mears was raised in Van Nuys, Calif., and lived in San Jose, Calif., for 34 years.
Ms. Mears worked as an analyst for the aerospace industry and was a member of the order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile and the Grand Order of the Hillbillies.
She enjoyed reading, crafts entertaining, charitable work and traveling having visited Australia and New Zealand on trips in conjunction with the Shriners.
Among her survivors are her sister Carol Ann Maha Kian of Phoenix.
No services are scheduled.
Cremation is under the direction of Walton's Sierra Crematory.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
