120 YEARS AGO

Frank Bell, warden of the State Prison, says the Reno Gazette is looking for further tracks of the lost man who made the tracks in Carson. If he finds an arrowhead or bits of a stone hatchet, it will be most valuable evidence. The quarrymen are unearthing something resembling charcoal, but it hardens in the air. (The famous tracks at the prison story.)

100 YEARS AGO

Mrs. Zink was fined $1 and costs for raising a rumpus in the Tonopah public school because her refractory son received a deserving thrashing. Fire at Schurz, on the reservation. The C&C RR destroyed the school house Monday.

70 YEARS AGO

Federal revenue stamps arrived at the Carson Brewery, which immediately swung into action bottling and preparing beer for the market. City council granted licenses for 13 retail establishments and one wholesale (beer).

50 YEARS AGO

Mrs. A.E. Bernard of Carson City, pictured, is commander of the Ormsby County (Carson City) Cancer Society now in its annual drive for funds. C.L. (Ike) Cochran is county money-raising chairman.

Military briefs, Patrick Air Force Base, Cocoa Beach, Fla., Lisa L. Gressman promoted to staff sergeant. She is daughter of Roberta J. Williams, Gardnerville.
