Carson High turned in many outstanding efforts in boys and girls swimming, but it wasn't enough to overcome the depth of Galena on Friday in a dual meet at Fallon.
Galena clinched the girls meet, leading 154-131. Diving was scheduled for today, but was postponed because Fallon's pool was unable to hold the diving. The diving may be rescheduled for Monday.
Carson has three divers -- Charity Ricks, Ila Bottoms and Alyssa Jensen -- but they would not be able to score enough points to make up the deficit.
Galena also took a 144-128 lead in the boys meet. Carson has two divers -- Travis Hall and Brent Server -- but they also would not be able to score enough points to make up the deficit.
In the boys meet, Carson's Kiel Costella, Jeff Stroup, Justin Barber and Jake Oxoby won the 200 medley relay in one minute, 54.16 seconds. Stroup also won the 200 freestyle (2:06.62). Barber won the 200 individual medley (2:06.16) and the 100 backstroke (57.82).
