A memorial service for Helen Walsh, 96, a Carson City resident for the past 22 years, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at FitzHenry's Chapel of Faith.
Mrs. Walsh died April 6, 2003, in Carson City. She was born March 21, 1907, in London to David and Ann Hancock Bridge.
Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Fallon.
Mrs. Walsh worked at the Fallon Telephone Co. for eight years. She volunteered for Retired Seniors and Volunteer Program for 12 years in Carson City. She enjoyed making jams for family and friends. When she was young, she was an oarswoman for the Lyon's Rowing Team in England. She was a member of the Church of England.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 1957 in London.
Among her survivors are her daughter, Pearl I. Shields of Carson City; grandson, Pete Barron of Las Vegas; three great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
