A man awaiting sentencing for supplying a friend with deadly heroin tried to hang himself in the Douglas County Jail, authorities said Monday.
Officers found Brian Keith Ramsell, 39, of Wellington with a bed-sheet noose around his neck in his jail cell at about 8 p.m. Saturday, said Chief Deputy Robert Rudnick.
Rudnick said Ramsell never lost consciousness. He was treated and released from the hospital then returned to the jail.
He pleaded guilty April 8 to involuntary manslaughter for the July 26 death of Daniel James Bryant, 26. Ramsell supplied him with the heroin.
Ramsell turned himself in to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office on Dec. 30.
