The Feather River Community College baseball team picked up its 18th and 19th league wins over the weekend to clinch its third straight Golden Valley Conference title with three games left in the regular season.
Feather River boasts the second best overall record in California with a 30-7 mark. Feather River's conference title also secures it a top four finish in the Northern California rankings.
San Mateo is ranked No. 1 while Fresno is ranked No. 2. Fresno recently lost two games, which should allow Feather River to move up in the rankings in the next state poll.
The Golden Eagles could potentially host its first ever playoff series May 9-11. The state playoff seedings will be determined on Monday.
Over the weekend, Feather River beat College of the Siskiyous 3-0 and 11-1. In the 11-1 win, Galena High's Byron Cragg pitched one scoreless inning. Fernley's Tyler Selden also went 1-for-4 with two runs.
Other local players on the roster include Carson High's Tim Priess and Douglas High's Cal Lewis and Tommy Hoyle. Updates on the state rankings and Feather River's program are available by going on line at www.frc.edu.
