Arthur E. Rousseau, 77, a Fallon resident, died July 29, 2003 in Carson City. He was born Jan. 11, 1926, to Philippe and Camille Rousseau.
He moved to California in 1970 and then to Fallon in late 1989.
Mr. Rousseau retired from the U.S. federal government after 25 years of service as a U.S. postal carrier and a Naval shipyard boat builder. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in both Fall River, Mass. and Los Angeles. He was also a member of the America Legion in Los Angeles and Fallon.
In 1960, he organized the North Star Rangers Marching Group, boys and girls who participated in parades and events throughout Bristol County, Mass.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sondra G.; brothers Philip, Norman and Albert and sister Helen Rousseau.
He served in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II under Gen. George Patton from 1944-46.
Among his survivors are his son Arthur E. Jr. of Lakewood, Calif.; daughters Catherine Reagan of Fallon, Jacqueline Michaud of North Highlands, Calif. and Karen Proulx and Cheryl Arruda, both of Fall River; four sons-in-law; one daughter-in-law; 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Capitol City Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
