A memorial Mass for Julia Sakakeeny, 80, a Dayton resident for the past 10 years, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Dayton.
Mrs. Sakakeeny died Aug. 5, 2003, at home. She was born June 19, 1923, in Split, Yugoslavia, to Anthony and Lucy Pazacic Burazin.
She married George Sakakeeny Feb. 26, 1952, in St. Louis.
Before moving to Dayton, she lived in Chicago and LaJolla, Calif.
Mrs. Sakakeeny enjoyed shopping, family, entertaining friends, opera and helping in her community. She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lucy; and brother, Miko Burazin.
Among her survivors are her husband of Dayton; sons Gabriel of Santa Rosa, Calif., George J. II of Oberlin, Ohio, and Michael Anthony of San Diego; and grandchildren Michelle, Matthew and Nicholas Sakakeeny.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
