Carole Lombard, blonde moving picture star, was granted a divorce from William Powell, also of the films, in Ormsby (Carson City) District Court today. Powell is a "very emotional man" and often used "coarse and abusive language" to her, she said. Attorney George Thatcher failed to have the court cleared, Judge Clark J. Guild saying it was not his policy to hold closed hearings.
50 YEARS AGO
Max Conrad, a "Flying Paul Revere" to arrive in Carson, hosted by CAP Wing Commander Weld Arnold of Carson and state Jaycee president Warren Hursh of Reno. This was in celebration of the 50th anniversary of powered flight. He would be the second only pilot, the other Lindberg and wife, Anne, to visit all 48 states.

Local Solar Energy Conservation Advisory Chairman Jim Carlyle said a solar access ordinance would be fair to all parties rather than forcing homeowners into a race to claim their solar rights.
