Hunter education class

Successful completion of a hunter education course is required for anyone, born after Dec. 31, 1959, who is interested in purchasing a Nevada hunting license.


The course will cover, among other topics, archery, conservation, hunter ethics, the safe handling of pistols, rifles and shotguns, wilderness survival, etc.


An attendee must attend the entire day, complete a workbook prior to the day of instruction and be able to successfully pass a written test in order to complete the course.


Participants should be at least 11 years old.


The registration fee is $5 per person, with anyone under the age of 18 admitted free.


This will be the last course offered in Douglas County until the Spring of 2004.


Interested person must register at either the Douglas County Sheriff's Office at 1625 8th St. in Minden or at 175 Highway 50 at Stateline, Lake Tahoe.


At the time of registration, a workbook and text will be given to the participant.
