The cancellation of the Oct. 4 date at Champion Motor Speedway is the most notable change as track officials released an updated event and payout schedule.

The Oct. 4 event was tentatively added to the schedule after the season opener was rained out on May 3.

However several CMS Charter Super Late Model and Western Modified racers have indicated plans to compete in the Win-River 150 at Shasta Speedway in Anderson, Calif. on Oct. 3-5.

That being the case, CMS has decided to bring the curtain down on the 2003 season on September 27.

The other scheduling adjustment is the Bandoleros championship night has been switched from Sept. 27 to Sept. 20.

The remaining 2003 schedule is as follows:

Sept. 6 -- Faster Pastor Charity Challenge featuring Western Modifieds, Limited Late Models, Les Schwab Street Stocks, Hustlin' Hornets, Bandoleros and Ponderosa Stamp bicycle races.

Sept. 13 -- Les Schwab Screamin' SCoolBus Rides season finale and Charter Super Late Models, Legends, Les Schwab Street Stocks, Queen Beez, Bandoleros and Ponderosa Stamp bicycle races.

Sept. 27 -- Championship Nite No. 2 presented by Coors Light featuring Charter Super Late Models, Les Schwab Street Stocks, Legends, Queen Beez and Ponderosa Stamp bicycle races.

CMS officials have also decided to keep the newly restructured payout schedule in place the remainder of this season. The new payout went into effect on Aug. 9.
