John Mayer, 86, a Carson City resident for the past 15 years, died Nov. 20, 2003, in Carson City. He was born Dec. 29, 1916, in Pincher Creek, Alberta, Canada, to Frank and Tekala Slosarczek Mayer.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Los Angeles for many years.
Mr. Mayer was an electrician and electrical contractor.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Among his survivors are his children Charles L. Mayer of Ridgecrest, Calif., and Cynthia Leigh Mayer of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; sisters Jessie Boyle and Stella Falcoino, both of California; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
At his request, there will be no service.
