An elderly man found dead behind Office Depot likely died from natural causes, authorities said Monday.
"There were no signs of foul play," said Carson City Sheriff's Detective Bob Motamenpour. "The guy had a multitude of medical problems. He basically came out, hit the ground, and died."
Henry Hushler, 78, was found face down in the Office Depot delivery driveway off Fairview Drive about 7:30 a.m. Sunday by a passerby.
By the time he was found, Hushler was unresponsive, Motamenpour said.
Neighbors of Hushler, who lived in senior housing on California Street, said he often took walks, and Motamenpour believes it was during one of his walks he fell ill. Hushler had prostate cancer among other ailments, he said.
Coroner Ruth Beseler said an autopsy Monday is awaiting toxicology results before pinpointing a cause of death.
"It's not a suspicious death," she said.
Hushler has no family in the area, Beseler said.
