A graveside service for Raymond Andrew Bolzerek, 76, a Gardnerville resident for the past two years, will be at 11 a.m. today at the Northern Nevada Veterans Cemetery in Fernley.
Mr. Bolzerek died Dec. 9, 2003, at Evergreen Mountain View Care Center. He was born Aug. 12, 1927, in New Miner, Wis., to Andrew and Theresa Bolzarek.
Before moving to Gardnerville, he lived in Kings Beach for 20 years, where he owned the Pine Pantry Restaurant and the Peppermint Pit Restaurant. He then moved to Oroville, Calif., where he bought a 60-acre cattle ranch.
He served in the U.S. Navy from January 1945 to May 1950 as a cook and quartermaster and was stationed in the Philippines during World War II.
Among his survivors are the Biggs families from Carnelian Bay and Gardnerville, stepchildren and grandchildren.
