Velma Mae Ruecker

Velma Mae Ruecker, 79, of Yerington died Dec. 22, 2003, at home. She was born Aug. 22, 1924, in Fairfax, S.D., to Otis and Clara Bentz Roberts.

She married Bill Ruecker Aug. 26, 1947, in Las Vegas. She previously lived in Kingman, Ariz.

Mrs. Ruecker held a civil service position driving naval personnel at Mare Island in San Francisco in the 1940s. She retired from Bentley Nevada in 1989. She was a member of the Square Dance Club, the Elks Lodge and the AC-DC Radio Club.

Among her survivors are her husband of 56 years of Yerington; sons Carl of Carson City and Daniel of Yerington; brothers Leonard of Arizona and Jim of San Francisco; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A private family service was held.
