William Vernon Johnson Sr., 69, of Fallon died Dec. 27, 2003, at home. He was born March 14, 1934, in Glynville, Iowa, to Charles and Eva Ratcliff Johnson.
Before moving to Nevada in 1964, he lived in Little Rock, Calif.
Mr. Johnson was an electrician for 45 years, working under the IBEW union. He worked for Heintze Electric in Gardnerville for 14 years. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1956 during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his father; wife, Evelyn in 1995; and son Dewayne.
Among his survivors are his mother and sisters Dee Bobby and Caroline Tupis, all of Sand Point, Idaho; brothers Clarence and Charles; brother Robert Pigman of Redding; son, Daniel Pigman and daughter, Veronica Astle, both of Carson City; sons David Pigman of Gardnerville, William Johnson Jr. of Fresno, Calif., and Charles Johnson of New York state; daughters Sonda Pigman of Fontana, Calif., Tina Sue Olsen of Redding, Calif., Karen Jones of Las Vegas and Vicki Lynn Johnson; companion Evelyn Perry of Fallon; 32 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
A family service will be at a later time.
The Gardens Funeral Home of Fallon is in charge of arrangements.
