The Carson Senator rifle team won the Sierra Nevada Top Gun event for the seventh straight year on Saturday.
Carson has been able to win the event every year its been against tougher competition each year. Carson had 1,949 points to edge Reed, which finished with 1897 points, for the title. Fallon, Incline Village, South Tahoe and North Valleys also competed in the event.
Carson's Sean Linehan was the top overall shooter in the event, scoring 262 points. Also for Carson, Chad Gilmore won in prone, Beth Ware placed second in kneeling and Jason Henderson took third in prone.
In the team competition, Carson also placed first and third out of nine teams. Henderson, Ware, Matt Neitzke and Gilmore won and Jason Hastings, Brett Bindley, Linehan and Mark Robinson took third.
