A man and his dog were found shot to death
Wednesday afternoon in a vehicle parked just off
Carson River Road, apparent victims of a suicide,
police said.
Two men walking their dog made the gruesome
discovery at about 4:40 p.m.
No suicide note was found.
Police say the 31-year-old male apparently shot
his border collie with a .22-caliber rifle,
before turning the gun on himself.
The dog was found in the backseat of the 1965
Mustang parked in a lot near Lloyds Bridge. The
man was in the front seat, said Sgt. Wade Penegor
of the Carson City Sheriff's Department.
"At this point we don't know much more," he
said.
The death is under investigation.
