A Carson City man has been ordered to appear in court on a charge of possessing child pornography.
Ruben DeLaPaz, 49, a banquet server for a Lake Tahoe casino, was arrested Jan. 24 after a search of his College Parkway studio apartment.
According to police reports, a maintenance worker who had entered the apartment to service the smoke detector spotted "two 8-by-10 photographs of naked young girls (approximately 10 to 11 years old) in sexual poses with an adult male subject."
Three photographs, pornographic videos, a computer tower and computer disks were confiscated.
DeLaPaz is charged with one count of possession of child pornography.
He will appear Monday in Carson City Justice Court for a hearing to determine if there is enough evidence to go forward with a trial.
