Several students from Carson High School received top honors in the regional Scholastic Art Awards. The contest was sponsored through the Nevada Museum of Art and is designed to identify America's most gifted artists and writers.
Students compete in 16 different categories for gold and silver keys. The works are reviewed by a panel of judges made up of local art educators, gallery owners and business leaders.
The artists' work will be on exhibit at the Nevada Museum of Art, 100 S. Virginia St. in Reno, until Feb. 23.
