A memorial Mass for Charlotte E. Pearce, 84, a Gardnerville resident for the past 24 years, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville.
Mrs. Pearce died Feb. 3, 2003, at Carson Valley Residential Care Center. She was born Aug. 22, 1918, in Oakland, Calif., to Eugene S. Sr. and Rena Vander Naillen Campi.
She attended Holy Names College, where she earned a bachelor's degree in education and graduated with high honors and distinction.
She married Elwood F. Pearce in 1941.
Mrs. Pearce moved to South Lake Tahoe in 1956 and taught elementary school in the Lake Tahoe Unified School District for more than 20 years. She was an accomplished classical pianist, an active member in St. Gall's Parish community and enjoyed playing bridge.
She was preceded in death by stepbrother Buck Brockoff and stepsister Madeline Andrews.
Among her survivors are: her husband; brother Eugene S. Campi Jr.; sons Woody and Joseph; daughter Carole Anne Michelson; grandchildren Cheri Thornton of Elko, Tony Pearce of Gardnerville, Molly Makley of Folsom, Calif., Matthew Makley of Phoenix, Luke and Michelle Michelsen of Smith Valley, Corinne Charlotte Pearce and Owen Pearce of Alexandria, Va. and great-grandchildren Jeffery and Steven Pearce of Gardnerville and Mikiah and Alijah Makley of Phoenix.
