MINDEN -- The Douglas County Building Industry Association has lined up an array of speakers to help forecast the 2003 climate for developers.
The association's 2003 Forecast dinner will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 26 at the Carson Valley Inn, 1627 Highway 395, Minden.
Discussion will include the proposed gross receipts tax and Nevada Legislation session presented by Assemblyman Lynn Hettrick.
Other scheduled speakers and their topics include:
-- Irene Porter, executive director and lobbyist for the Southern Nevada Builder's Association, on builder issues, taxes and upcoming Nevada legislation.
-- Steve Hill of the Coalition for Fairness in Construction for an overview of legislative activity concerning construction industry issues.
-- Mark Fun, owner of NW Sunrise Development
-- Jerry Gregory, senior vice president of the Business Bank of Nevada in Minden, on trends to watch on a national, state and local level.
-- Douglas County resident Cheryl Blomstrom on "The Disappearing American Dream."
