Chocolate lovers are expected to swarm the fourth annual Feast of Chocolate from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Nevada State Library and Archives.
At the all-you-can-eat extravaganza, dozens of delectables from chocolate chip cookies and brownies to more exotic goodies will be offered.
A fund-raiser for the American Association of University Women's Capital Branch, the family-oriented event costs $5 per person.
Members contribute homemade goodies, and many businesses, including The Carson Valley Inn and Carson Nugget, get into the act. Molly's Gourmet Catering and Cooking School in Carson City is bringing between 100 and 200 brownies -- and the list goes on.
"DW's Restaurant, from Walley's Hot Springs is a new contributor this year," said Linda Hibert Sekiguchi, co-president of the AAUW Capital Branch. "They requested a 6-foot table and are sending two employees. We're delighted with that donation."
Kathleen Sciascia, catering director at David Walley's Resort and Hot Springs, said they'll bring an eight-tier chocolate decadence cake and chocolate-dipped strawberries.
Sekiguchi said the fund-raiser usually brings in from $1,500 to $3,000, the bulk of the money going to scholarships for local women.
In addition to all the chocolate, the association will raffle off a number of gift certificates to local restaurants, including B'Sghetti's and Bodine's.
Sodas, coffee and milk will be available.
Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door. For information, call 267-4515.
