St. Gall Women's Society has scheduled a Gala Mardi Gras Dinner-Dance fund-raiser for 6 p.m. March 1 at the St. Gall Pastoral Center, 1343 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville.

Tickets for $12 per person will be on sale after Masses and in the church office during the week. Tickets will not be sold at the door.

Disc Jockey Bill Penn will provide the music for dancing and the costume parade. Costumes are encouraged, but optional. Colorful masks will be sold at the door the night of the Mardi Gras for those who want one.

Dinner menu includes jambalaya (a rice dish with chicken and spicy sausage, and shrimp on the side), salad, dinner rolls and a traditional bread pudding dessert. Funds raised at this event will be used to purchase a new sound system for the church.

It is hoped members of the community will join the fun and get in the spirit of Mardi Gras.
