A memorial service for Mary Mees Swartz, 55, a Carson City resident for the past 24 years, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.
Mrs. Swartz died Dec. 29, 2002, at her home. She was born Jan. 21, 1947, in Madison, Wis., to Edward Charles and Margaret Dodge Mees.
She attended high school in Anchorage, Alaska, Lindenwood College in Missouri, Lake Tahoe Community College and Sacramento State.
She married Donald L. Swartz Dec. 11, 1973, at South Lake Tahoe.
Mrs. Swartz was an accountant and later a housewife. She volunteered with the Carson City Special Olympics, Ballet Society of Nevada and the Capitol Cutups Square and Round Dance Association of Carson City.
She was preceded in death by her mother in December 1999 in Carson City.
Among her survivors are her husband and father, both of Carson City; sister Janet Mees Martin of Truckee; nephew Jed E. Martin of Reno and niece Megan V. Martin of Truckee.
