It wasn't pretty, but the Dayton High boys basketball team will take an ugly 41-32 win at North Tahoe on Friday in its Northern 3A opener.

The Dust Devils shot 26 percent from the floor and 48 percent (12-of-25) from the foul line.

"It was just a very ugly Christmas break game," Dayton coach Rob Streeter said. "We started off league with a win, so we're happy with that. We'll take an ugly win."

Nick McQueen had 11 points and 10 rebounds for Dayton. "He did a solid job for us," Streeter said. Dayton will continue Northern 3A play today at Truckee.
