RENO -- Reno's air quality has moved into the yellow category for the first time this season.

That means people who have trouble breathing, older folks, or the ill should stay indoors.

Warmer temperatures are holding the air down around western Nevada.

In addition, sand that was put on the roads recently during snowstorms is being ground up by traffic, adding to the dust in the air.

Health officials are asking people to restrict their use of wood stoves and fireplaces and to hold off on driving as much as possible.
