Stanley Zolkowski, 87, a Carson City resident for the past 16 years, died Jan. 3, 2003, in Carson City. He was born May 8, 1915, in Pittsfield, Mass., to Vincent and Anna Warniel Zolkowski.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in the Los Angeles area.
Mr. Zolkowski was a mail handler for the U.S. Postal Service from 1958 until retiring in 1980 in the San Fernando Valley. He was a Catholic.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II with the occupational forces in Okinawa.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen, in 1998; and daughter, Barbara Joyce Gagne, in 1987.
Among his survivors are his son, Richard of Mound House; brother, Vincent of Naples, Fla.; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
