A service for Dr. Bernard Greenblat, 90, a Carson City resident for the past six years, will be at noon today at Walton's Funeral Home with the Rev. Dick Campbell officiating.
Dr. Greenblat died Jan. 5, 2003, in Carson City. He was born May 30, 1912, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Abraham and Dorothy Greenblat.
He graduated from New York University in 1931, Medical College of Virginia in 1939 and was certified in obstetrics and gynecology in 1952.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Great Neck, N.Y.
He married Gertrude Greenblat June 6, 1934, in Brooklyn. She preceded him in death July 15, 1999, in Carson City.
He served as a lieutenant colonel in the Army Medical Corps, receiving the Croix de Guerre Oct. 30, 1945. He was discharged Dec. 10, 1948.
Among his survivors are son and daughter-in-law David and Mary Greenblat of Carson City; daughter and son-in-law Deborah and Paul Miller of Armonk, N.Y.; grandchildren Dylan Greenblat and Luke Miller and two nieces.
His and his wife's ashes will be scattered at Maroon Lake, Colo.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
