A memorial service for Benjamin Nelson MacGregor, an 18-year Carson City resident, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church.
Mr. MacGregor died Jan. 9, 2003, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. He was born June 30, 1932, in Flint, Mich., to Benjamin and Margaret Nelson MacGregor. He was 70.
Prior to living in Carson City, Mr. MacGregor lived in Flint.
Mr. MacGregor married Dorothy Luce in Biloxi, Miss., Feb. 19, 1952.
He attended the General Motors Institute in Flint where he earned a degree in engineering.
He enjoyed traveling golf and old cars. He worked for General Motors for 31 years and taught drafting, comprehensive design and hydraulics at Carson High School from 1985-1987. He was also a substitute teacher at Dayton High School.
Mr. MacGregor was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and served in the U.S. Air Force where he was stationed in Casa Blanca.
Among his survivors are his wife Dorothy of Carson City; his son Andy and daughter-in-law Camile of Park City, Utah; daughter Peggy and son-in-law Bob McNatt of Woodridge, Calif.; daughter Beth MacGregor of Oakhurst, Calif.; brother James of Flint and four grandchildren.
Private burial will follow.
