As for saying it was quiet lately in Carson City, I definitely spoke too soon. We have some excellent organizations that really need help.
First, a quick apology to Cathy Blankenship, director of the Boys & Girls Club of Western Nevada, for my faux pas of twice calling it Northern Nevada. Manager Diane McCoy of the Boys & Girls Club said they had a large response of needed items and cash donations for the community. McCoy thanks everyone for the help.
I also want to thank all the employees at National Best Sellers and its owner, Jenny Lopiccolo, for again sponsoring gifts for mothers and their children at Advocates to End Domestic Violence. What wonderful gifts you provided: Target and Smith's certificates, stocking stuffers from The Treasure Basket and Platinum Salon for a makeover. That is such a wonderful program you enable behind the scenes.
