RENO -- A parole violator was arrested Saturday in connection with a string of Reno-areal business robberies.

Benny Middlebrooks, 42, of Reno, is accused of robbing five businesses over a one-week period ending Jan. 12.

Victims included a Motel 6 on Wells Avenue, a 7-Eleven on Silverada Boulevard and a Texaco service station on North Virginia Street.

Investigators said Middlebrooks told them that he's addicted to crack cocaine and committed the robberies to support his habit.

In each case a weapon was simulated but not seen.
