California woman killed in Nevada traffic accident

SPARKS, Nev. -- A California woman has died following a two-vehicle collision here Sunday.

Sparks police said Laura Luella Watkins, 50, of Susanville, died at Washoe Medical Center after the noon accident at the intersection of Pyramid and Queens way.

The woman initially was erroneously identified as Joan Watkins from Springfield, Ore., police said Monday.

Police said a preliminary investigation shows Watkins was the driver of a vehicle that made a left turn into the path of a pickup driven by Todd Bradley of Sun Valley.

Bradley was extricated from the vehicle and listed in serious condition at the hospital.

Three juveniles riding with Watkins also were injured and taken to the hospital.

The accident remained under investigation, police said.
