The Yerington boys basketball team outscored Fernley 16-2 in overtime on its way to a 54-40 win on Thursday.
Yerington (3-3 in league play) trailed throughout the entire game, but came back to tie the score 38-38 with seven seconds left in regulation when Wes Thomas hit a three-pointer. Fernley jumped out to a 10-0 lead to start the game.
Fernley also took a 40-38 lead to begin overtime before the Lions end the game with a 16-0 run. Heimy Olivera scored seven of his 20 points in overtime while Thomas scored five of his 19 points in the extra period for Yerington. Derek Henry scored 10 points for Fernley.
