Galena High graduates Annie Baxter and Amy Jackson were named to the all-Western Athletic Conference academic team for the University of Nevada women's soccer team.
Athletes must maintain at least a cumulative 3.2 grade point average and participate in 50 percent of the team's contests to qualify for the all-WAC academic team. In all, 19 Wolf Pack student-athletes were named to the all-WAC academic team for the fall sports season. They were:
Ekene Agwuenu (So., Chino Hills, Calif.), Chris Barry (So., Tacoma, Wash.), Jordan Edwards (So., West Linn, Ore.), Adam Kiefer (Fr., Danville, Calif.), Erick Streelman (Sr., Bellflower, Calif.) and Zack Threadgill (Sr., Glendale, Ariz.) in football; Natialie Allen (Jr., Highlands Ranch, Colo.), Baxter (So., Reno, Nev.), Jessica Gregg (Sr., Barstow, Calif.), Jackson (So., Reno, Nev.), Leisha Makinano (Jr., Honolulu, Hawaii) and Erin Warner (Sr., Reno, Nev.) in soccer; Jessica Ford (Jr., Lee Vinning, Calif.), Sara Frank (Jr., Reno, Nev.), Emma Garrard (Jr., Anchorage, Alaska) and Virginia Johnson (Fr., Bend, Ore.) in cross country; and Emily Baracco (Sr., Cameron Park, Calif.), Jill Couwenhoven (Sr., Clovis, Calif.) and Michelle More (Sr., Torrance, Calif.) in volleyball.
