A graveside service for Edwin Wait Jr., 78, a Gardnerville resident for the past 24 years, will be at noon Saturday at Garden Cemetery in Gardnerville.
Mr. Wait died Jan. 27, 2003, in Carson City. He was born Sept. 26, 1924, in Laramie, Wyo., to Edwin and Effie Romack Wait.
Before moving to Gardnerville, he lived in Torrance, Calif.
Mr. Wait worked as a working cowboy for the Warren Livestock Co. in Laramie.
He served in the U.S. Navy as an aviation ordnance man second class, from 1943 to 1946.
After the war he continued his love for flying by obtaining his private pilot's license in 1963. He joined the Professional Rodeo Cowboy's Association and competed across the country on the Pro Rodeo Circuit. He completed instruction in computer programming with Remington Rand and later worked for Garrett Corp., Allied Signal and Honeywell as a top computer programmer and systems analyst. He enjoyed the great outdoors.
