Obituary: Albert N. "Jake" Jacobsen

Albert N. "Jake" Jacobsen, 59, died July 4, 2003, in Mexico. He was born Oct. 1, 1943, in Eureka, Calif., to Clifford and June Jacobsen.

He attended high school at Eureka High School. He moved to Gardnerville in 1971.

Mr. Jacobsen worked for Sharkey's Casino as the general manager, retiring in 1999. He enjoyed skiing and dirt bike riding. His dream came true when he built his home in Mexico where he lived until his death.

He served in the U.S. Navy for four years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Ruby Lee.

Among his survivors are his son and daughter-in-law Bigg and Stephanie Jacobsen of Gardnerville; daughter and son-in-law Trickett and Sean Walters of Seattle; sister and brother-in-law Shirley and Dana West of Medford, Ore.; grandchildren Joshua, Joe and Richard; cousins and a cat.

A graveside service at the Genoa Cemetery is pending.

Fitzhenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville is in charge of arrangements.
