Carson's Jake Rasner pitched a one-hitter and struck out 10 to lead the Reno Aces to a 4-1 win over Austin, Texas in a national tournament in Georgia. The Aces went 1-2 in their first day of the event.
Also for Carson against Austin, Eric Melendez, Jon Teeter and Jesse Rasner were all 2-for-3 with an RBI in the wood bat tournament. Douglas High's Brandon Huff added a hit and an RBI.
In a 4-3 loss to the East Cobb Braves of Atlanta, Jesse Rasner and Melendez were each 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI and Teeter and Huff each added a hit.
Teeter doubled in a 2-0 loss to South Florida. South Florida won the game on a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning.
